If you’ve never heard an elephant seal pup, think of a cackling chicken/monkey/banshee. They throw their heads back and scream, a stuttering cackle that occasionally sounds like they’re laughing at you, or maybe terrified. Maybe both. These elephant seal prints exhibit their behavior without the auditory onslaught. Are they yelling in distress, frustration, disappointment in the current political climate of the United States. Or are they just asking for breakfast? Either way, they’re screaming into the void.
